The explanation
My story stays always the same, I paint on intuition ,
What does it actually mean ‘on intuition’ ?,.
Lately it almost sounds like a ‘fashionable ‘ ‘hip’ thing to do.
Like going to Ibiza on Holiday.
It is far from that , and much more complicated than you think .
It is much easier to walk to your work and know what to do, what to paint, what to draw or who to write or to ask your boss what to do.
I am pulled to my atelier, randomly, I put on the music, try to be on that frequency and paint , just paint , no conscious thoughts, grab colours paint and something unfolds.
For those who follow me a little bit longer hopefully a clear story.
When you paint like I do it is very hard to keep a certain style, like some artist choose to paint only faces , or only abstract, very recognisable like a housebrand.
I wouldn’t be able to commit myself to such a thing.
A stigma which wouldn’t fit me anyway.
One of the biggest reasons I am an artist, is that I can express myself in hundreds ways.
No-one has the same mood everyday…the same counts for me and so automatically for my work.
There is a change though and I see clearly that I can categorise my work in 3 different styles.
To satisfy the understandable question to be a little bit more recognisable I decided to categorise my work in 3 styles, layers more to say.
The Explanation:
The layers of life and experiences,
Compare it to life, we all have micro and macro problems, the first layer is the one where we have solvable daily issues the here and the now, the fast forward, the up to the minute things.
The second, the longer and stronger issues to be hopefully solved over time, the ones which makes who you are, or how you react on things. The one where you have self reflection and hopefully get to know yourself, your flaws, minuses and pluses, the good and the bad.
And the third, the one that beholds your heart , your soul , the moments or memories which can make you immensely happy or extremely sad , the feelings or situations which you can feel in your stomach, either butterflies or when negative sick in your stomach.
So back to my art the first for me is the here and the now, the impact the news in the news paper has on me , a hype , contemporary art, my more ‘cobra’ figurative colourful style .
The direct visible effects of life just experienced, fast art , move forward, if there was a name for it in the direction of ‘Reflected art ‘I would call it that .
Then the second it is more my ‘abstract’ work , the earthy person in me, the base of my being , the mother , the overthinking one.
The hermit who finally let the 2 other layers or styles blend in as a welcome stranger with a touch of color, a shiny coating or a figurative suggestive line .
The third is the deepest, abstruse and esoteric one, the one that comes from the heart , what the soul is experiencing or experienced , the private one, where the scorpio keeps her secrets , the place where the scorpio can turn into an eagle and rises above her own emotions and is ready to share it through a painting, If there was a official name for it I would like to call it ‘Angelic’

The Dive
It is always a dive into the deep, -at the same time art is a reflection of the heart -‘because the world does not belong to us’ …the life of an artist is a weird one, someone suggested me once to immediately search another job as he said politely -to be a artist is a hell of a job- on one hand you are in the centre of the audience or attention , good or bad ,on the other you need to be completely withdrawn from any distraction in order to perform, a combination where you almost need to be bi -polar ! The so called ‘hermit’ life and the ‘bohemian hippy chic’ world are coming together today …hope to see you all !!LoveMeXXXX #art #artist #opening #today #dive #hermit #bohemianstyle #instagood #reflection #contrast #paintings #photography #photos #kissitbetter #RacingWithGods #champagne @moetchandon @lololorenart
Barcelona
I am going in waves, Barcelona city where my kids live , my friends , my first city around the corner to just go and feel ‘ the city life’ ,the always hippy relax spanish international vibe to feel so at home , the city where you completely blend in the minute you enter , the history, the alluring stately houses , the beautiful chaos, the people with passion , the heat and the ‘sex’ of the city, and now … victim of cruelty of the insanity where we reluctantly have to live with . Why..? @lololorenart #barcelona #noreason #pray #why #noanswer #cruelty #savagery #morelove LoveMeXXXX

Pyke Koch
Pyke Koch ,
A very talented Dutch artist who painted in a magic realist manner, for us a talented family friend ,and very dear to my grandparents.
Waking up to see this photo I realise that I adore this photo of him, the face of a man with charisma, creativity and stylishness and originality.
Pyke Koch and the painter Carel Willink are considered to be the foremost representatives in the Netherlands of Magic Realism, a style of painting in which the scenes depicted seem realistic yet uncanny or unlikely.
I just went to see an exhibition of Willink not too sure if I am so mesmerised by the magic realism, it has something dark in a way . I do, yes I am jealous of their way of painting because they ‘really’ can paint realism, I always joke about it but it is not far from the truth that I can not draw a proper horse for example. It doesn’t make me ‘less’ of an artist but a true wish to learn it at one point .
Carel Willink (1900-1983) was one of the foremost Dutch painters of this magic realism and ‘imaginary realism’. He combined a refined, masterful technique, rendering reality in a detailed way, with a disconcerting, sometimes even threatening atmosphere in his work.
Back to Koch as he interests me the most, mainly because of our strong connection through family friendships ,during the late 1920s and 1930s he had many exhibitions, both solo and in collaboration with others. In 1931 one of the foremost museums in the Netherlands, the Museum Boymans van Beuningen bought one of his paintings called De Schiettent or Shooting Gallery. This meant he was considered one of the Great Painters of the Netherlands.
After the Second World War, Koch was condemned for his fascist sympathies and was banned from exhibiting his work for one year. But his friends and colleagues remained faithful to him. In 1950 he and a number of colleagues represented the Netherlands at the 25th Venice Biennale.
Still my super wish to expose at the Venice Biennale but all will come when time decides !
